i enjoy thinking about it,
but i do not enjoy watching it.
(original post -- december 31, 2009)update -- it is MUCH better the second time you watch it.
you catch on to a lot more and aren't as surprised.
(ha ha, it's not as traumatic.)

So, I took the dive and watched. Dan K. had said that he had a hard time remembering that The Joker was played by Ledger, and I completely understand. It was almost like the actor wasn't there on the screen, just the character was - and perhaps that's what makes it so sad: he lost himself in a maniac.
It was good, in the sense that the film was well done and has some powerful themes and a lot to think about, but not in the sense that I want to watch it again any time soon. That's how I felt about the first one, too, though. And I didn't see it again until I needed to remember it for this.
After those, I popped in the Pirates movies and let them run while I went through papers...just to lighten the mood.
